GTK-Gnutella Knows I'm Firewalled

I just downloaded gtk-gnutella and when I go to connect the little icon in the bottom right hand side looks like a firewall. Moving the cursor over it shows a little blurb that says something to the effect of "We think you are firewalled. You will not get any connections....blah blah blah"

Anyway I just put a new iptables firewall in effect so I'm wondering what ports I have to open for gnutella to work.

Thanks.

You could try dropping your firewall for a few minutes, then try connecting the gtk-gnutella. While it's starting up, run

netstat -n

in command line. Quit your gtk-gnutella. Check your output of netstat and you should be able to see what port it was using. Now you can edit your firewall accordingly and put it back up. Hope this helps

Good idea. I've been messing around and I think that it is my router firewall and not my iptables. Arggg...more troubleshooting.

Hmmm. I don't use a router and have no idea how to mess with its firewall properties. If it is the router's firewall you might be in for some fun. Good luck.

I have the exact same problem...ugh. I have a Linksys Wireless Access point router, not sure if its what is blocking the traffic.
