gtk+ 2.4.14 problem, how do I execute GTK?

I am trying run the program and haven't figured out were/how to do it
I downloaded 2.4.14 and tried to config and install it didn't config.
(Mandrake 10.2) Comes pre loaded with GTK+ but I can't figure out how to turn it on and display on the desktop

any help would be greatly appreciated.

gtk+ isn't a program, it's a library. you can't run it. gkrellm just uses it to draw itself. in fact, you won't be using GTK+, but GTK2 if you are using Gkrellm2. it's just a bit newer and better. from a console just run "gkrellm" or maybe "gkrellm2" to fire up the app.
