gta3 install problem

i use winex compiled from CVS thats about 2 weeks old and when i try to install GTA3 the installshield loader will get to 100% and freeze there. any chance i might fix this problem? i think i have WineX configured correctly as i have already installed and played Half-Life like this for about 2 weeks.

i use Redhat Linux 8.0 if that helps any.

What I've found at teh groups:
Quote:
WineX from cvs does not include the various copy-protection schemes such
as SafeDisk and SecuROM. If GTA3 uses either of these, than it is
unlikley that it will work.
On the other hand, it's suposed to work, probebly not with the cvs version...
