I have Fedora 8 and I'm running Totem 2.20.1 using GStreamer 0.10.15. I'm trying to play a DVD, but whenever I try and play it I get an error saying that Totem can't play this type of media (DVD) because I don't have the correct plugins.
It then directs me to Totem's codex page, which leads me to GStreamer's page. I've installed libdvdcss-1.2.9, gst-plugins-bad, gst-plugins-ugly, gst-plugins-base. I ran gst-inspect and it says I have 170-something plugins, but it doesn't seem to sync up with Totem. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
I'm not sure if there is a repo for altered packages for Fedora like there is for SuSE but try to look for something like that as it may have an altered version for Totem and GStreamer that would allow to play DVDs. The other option would be to watch your DVD with Kaffeine, Mplayer or KMplayer.
