gst-thumbnail chewing up time?
Starting some time last week(?), I've noticed that whenever I open nautilus on a directory with mpg's in it, gst-thumbnail takes off and chews up a LOT of CPU time - to the point I started looking for what was slowing my machine down.
Example:
- Open nautilus on /mnt/win2/music
- ps -ef|grep gst:
chip 1196 1195 93 09:10 ? 00:00:30 gst-thumbnail file:///mnt/win2/My%20Music/INCOMPLETE4828d5d1b2600a5e2048223ec31ae2a8Emperor%20-%20I%20Am%20the%20Black%20Wizards.mpg /tmp/.gnome_thumbnail.xNWYsr
If I kill the gst process, it simply goes to the next mpg in the directory:
chip 1207 1195 75 09:12 ? 00:00:30 gst-thumbnail file:///mnt/win2/My%20Music/SLAYER%20-%20Hell%20Awaits%20(Live%20Studio%2054%20N.Y.C%20April%203rd%201985).mpg /tmp/.gnome_thumbnail.166sXT
I tried turning the values to 'false' in the gst-thumbnail scheme (I thought) because I had no other idea how to either FIX this problem or turn off gst-thumbnail.
Anyone? Thanks.
