Unhappy GRUB problem

Hey Everyone,

I had Linux 7.2 and Windows XP pro installed on my P4 HT machine. I removed all the partitions the other day using fdisk in linux. Now, when I reboot my System it goes directly to a grub> prompt.

I tried doing fixmbr, fdisk /mbr. I even tried making it boot from Windows installation CD so that I can go to Recovery console, but it is still going to grub>. Looks like everything is erased from the disk (even grub.conf is not found)and I am in trouble.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

V

I would think that booting the Windows install CD should have worked. Have you checked your bios to see whether the CDROM is listed as the first boot device?
