GRUB Bug after BIOS flash

I just flashed my BIOS to version 1.08 and after such I have found myself incapable of booting into Windows XP via GRUB

Before the flash, it used to work fine.

Now, it reads:
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1

and doesn't do anything

Windows is installed on the first partition of the first disk.

Any idea what's wrong?? PLEASE HELP ME!

i dont know if this would help but you might want to try reinstalling grub.

as i said i dont know if it would help, so i dontknow how effective it would be. but as for how, just find a grub source for fedora core 2 (or RPM) and install it.

also try messing with settings in your grub.conf (also not sure)

im kind of a noob so i may not be helping much but i thought id at least try to answer.

I don't know what distro you are running, On FD4 there's a recovery disk. To update the mrb,
1. Insert disk
2. enter linux rescue
3. chroot /mnt/sysimage
4. edit grub.conf as needed
5. enter grub-install /dev/hda assuming hda is your windows partition

that's it

hope this helps
