Grub 1.96 in openSUSE 11.1?
 

I'm trying to install grub 1.96 in openSUSE 11.1 because the version that comes with it (0.97) does not support HFS, which I need to dual boot to (hackintosh). I downloaded/untarred/configured/make/make installed it but for some reason it won't overwrite the old version, when I restart I still see ver. 0.97 come up... I haven't been on linux for a few years and I'm betting it's as simple as a config file but any help would be appreciated.

I would advise making a RPM package from the 1.96 version and using that todo the overwrite during the 'rpm -Uhv' session.

Thanks, I tried but it still won't overwrite... when I see the grub menu it still says 0.97
