Hi, for some reason i can't get grip and lame to work together, when i go "rip and encode' it gives me an error and tells me to check my encoder config or something...
Did you make sure it points to the correct lame location? Also, you can try to check those lame flags that grip use. Check it against the lame -h option in the console.
I would save myself some time and get cdparanoia with the frontend RipperX, I have had to play with grip on a regular basis and I am not impressed. I am a huge fan CDparania with LAME. hope that leads you in the right direction.
