Unhappy "grep: /etc/issue: No such file or directory"


i`m trying to install kylix3_open_edition and:

[root@hunter kylix3_open]# sh setup.sh



BORLAND KYLIX 3

Checking dependencies...
Kernel version >= 2.2.0....OK
Glibc version >= 2.1.2....OK
X11 Server....OK
Libjpeg version >= 6.2.0....OK
Libgtk version >= 1.2.0....OK


grep: /etc/issue: No such file or directory

and i dont know what to do

pls help

ls -l /etc/issue <-- does that work?

[root@hunter root]# ls -l /etc/issue
ls: /etc/issue: No such file or directory

well you clearly don't have an issue file... no biggie. just create an empty file... "touch /etc/issue.net" and try again.

[root@hunter /]# touch etc/issue
[root@hunter /]# touch etc/issue.net
[root@hunter /]# cd root/kylix3_open
[root@hunter kylix3_open]# sh setup.sh

....and nothing happends... i see just blank black screen under "Libgtk version >= 1.2.0....OK" and i cant do anything... HELP!! ((

maybe i should install some libs or progs?????

( what i should do to make KYLIX3 work !?

got second error when trying to run "pretest"

[root@hunter borpretest]# ./borpretest
Borland Kylix System Compatibility Test

Checking loader....lib-a.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or dir ectory
[root@hunter borpretest]#
