for bitmap graphics:
1) Gimp. 2) ImageMagick. 3) Pixel32. [Prop] 4) CinePaint. 5) RubyMagick. 6) Corel PhotoPaint 9. [Prop] for vector graphics 1) Sodipodi. 2) xfig. 3) Sketch. 4) Karbon14 and Kontour. 5) OpenOffice Draw. 6) Dia. 7) Tgif. 8) Gestalter. 9) ImPress. 10) Tkpaint. 11) Tgif. 12) Corel Draw 9. [Prop] source: linux table of equivalents to windows software at http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-l...en/table.shtml that page also has relevant links to the above mentioned programs; just search for photoshop on that page and you'll find the list also, illustrator and maybe fireworks will run on some of the older versions of wine |
Thanks. GIMP and programs like it aren't quite what I want tho. GIMP is more like a photoshop. Its for manipulating images, not creating graphics. Thanks for the link. Ill try some of those tonight! :)

Sketch (now Skencil) is the grooviest vector application I've seen on Linux so far.
I wouldn't say that Gimp/Photoshop are not for creating images. With a little talent and a tablet you can make some incredible artwork. |
Ill try out skencil.
The closest thing on SM's list to what I need is Kontour and Karbon 14 but they are no where near as powerful as what Im looking for. I will also look in to that "wine" program SM was talking about. Thanks! |
