Incorrect display of drawing chars by Rxvt

I have recently started using mrxvt for its multi-tab feature. Some utilities that worked fine in xterm are showing strange character sequence for graphic characters. Even for man pages, it inserts some strange characters. The alpha-numerical text is appearing fine. I tried other rxvt based terminals but all have same problem. Gnome-based terminals (powershell, gnome-terminal) do not have this problem

Any way of correcting this behaviour?

TIA,
pymehta

It was due to the UTF8 encoding default in FC1. It was solved by setting environment variable LANG=en_US.iso885915 for mrxvt executeable.
