Grammar check for open office 2.2

I have ubuntu, and open office 2.2. Up till now, I have always used word, so I am used to having a grammar checker. I downloaded LanguageTool, installed it as the it instructed, not unzipping the file etc, and it dosn't work. The button on the tool bar appears, and bar on the top. It has the option 'Configuration...' but when I click on it, it does nothing. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Do you have Java 5.0 installed? I think it needs that to run. From the LanguageTools homepage:

I experienced the same behavior with PCLinuxOS. The correct version of Java is installed and operational.

Try logging in as root. LanguageTool works properly at that point suggesting that it is a permissions problem in my case. I have been unable to configure it to operate as a normal user.

As a normal user I get an error that says that the java loader will not start. But, other Java applications work fine.
