Gps data analyzer
 

Hello everyone,

i have recently bought a telephone ( a Nokia 6730 ) that features an internal gps device, and i have installed on the phone a program called TTGPSLogger ( http://code.google.com/p/ttgpslogger/ ) that can save an nmea gps log.

That works, but i don't know what software i can use in order to obtain what for example a distance/speed data, or even better a draw of the route on a map, for example on top of openstreetmap.

For now i have parsed the files with http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ and to draw the route Google Earth on Windows ( with Linux it doesn't draw the map with my Intel card... :( ).

I would like to know if there is a program that runs locally and can do things similar to what gpsvisualizer does, and if there is something to draw the route on a map.

It is possible that viking will do what you're attempting to do but I haven't really used any windoze programs in 20 or so years so don't know how they will compare.

You seem to know about OSM (<---But please read the link).

There's an editor for the OSM map, so you can add your own data from GPS tracks you have recorded: JOSM It is awesome and runs on linux.

Video tutorials for getting started with JOSM are here. See numbers 4,5,6.

tangogps is also excellent for finding your way around (it uses map data from OSM).
