Got freevo working with a weird error

Ok here is my setup

1) nforce 2 //finally got it working great just had to recompile the kernel and use hdparm for the dma
2) ati TV wonder ve //works but gives bad quality any suggestions for a new card
3) geforce fx card with an s-video out

ok here is the error

When i start freevo and i go to the Watch TV section i get the list of channels as usual. But when I try to watch a channel I get no volume. So i go to the mixer controlls and turn the input (this is how the TV wonder VE gives you sound) all the way up. Here is the weird part even though i turned off Freevo i can still here the last channel it was on. Also when i try to listen to another channel it resets the input back to 0 so i have to turn off freevo and redo the input back up. Is this just because of the ATI card with the Nforce boards or is there a software problem that I can fix or is my setup wrong.

Thanx for reading.

If this isnt clear please tell me ill try to explain it a better way.
