If you search for guides about pulseaudio, most of them are either "disable pulse audio", "disable alsa and enable pulseaudio" or "why pulseaudio is bad"

Well, I recently needed to record a microphone and talk to people with that mic. Can't do that with alsa, so I created a "sink" to make that possible. I've also done interesting stuff like recording desktop audio but piping my music player directly to headphones (so it isn't recorded while other audio is)

Fun stuff!

But pulseaudio is really dense and most of what I accomplished was by scrounging in stack overflow sites. I'd like to get a more comprehensive understanding, like Frozentux and its guide for iptables

Arch linux is great because of its dedication towards documentation - I've found this and have been perusing it.

Anyways, does anyone have any good resources for pulseaudio?

I used this for getting my bluetooth skull candy speaker to work in AntiX (Debian without systemd but pulseaudio packaged without systemd) and Linux Lite (Ubuntu based like Mint).

It is not a guide per se, Just a poke an hoped it works by me.
Which I got lucky and it did.

I would take a look at the Linux-based DAW communities. Audio recording and production on Linux is a solved problem but it may be a little hard to find the answer. Start with not assuming that PulseAudio is any help here (I would be happy to be contradicted but I don't recall any mention of it intending to be used in DAWs [seems to be just the pet project of some guy who does a lot of good but misses a lot of points along the way]).

I wanted to record stuff from old phonograph records with Audacity and then remove the pops and scratches. After fiddling around for the better part of two days I finally "hit" on the correct configuration to accomplish this. When I got everything configured properly I "print screened" all of the Audacity and Pulse Audio settings and saved them so I won't have to waste another couple days figuring this combination out again. Fyi some updates on many distros of Linux will alter PA's settings requiring a reset of those settings. This is when the "print screen" comes in handy.
