gnuplot vertical line

hmmm... not really sure how to plot a vertical line in gnuplot, say x=3.

i could do a horizontal using

plot 3

which would be the equivalent of y = 3.

anyone??

dr_van_nostrand,

thank you for your reply. i ended up using a file to plot a vertical line from two points. However, your link is very helpful and way more elegant. I will use that info from now on in my next assignment. I appreciate it!!!
