Question Gnumeric And Currency Symbols?

In Gnumeric why are cells which have a minus amount of money displayed like this;

Income : 100.00
Expenditure : 135.00
Profit : -35.00

How do I get the pound symbol to be placed infront? I've tried formatting the cells to “Currecny,” “£” but no pound sign is displayed.

I've also tried “Accounting,” “Symbol” “£” but I just get this;

Income : 100.00
Expenditure : 135.00
Profit : (35.00)

Thanks in advance. Should I inform the developers?
