gnuCash Installation
 

I am running RH8 and am not able to install the RPM's for gnuCash. I get the following errors after running # rpm -Uvh *.rpm:

When I try to compile gnuCash it gives me an error saying guile has to be installed. I tried installing guile and it still does not work. I think that guile is already installed on my compurter, If I type Guile as a command I get a command prompt with Guile. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I tried everything I could to install this. Also, I dl'ed all the RPM packages for the gnuCash RH8 distro. I tried to install all of them and got the message attached above. Any help installing this will be helpful.

Whew! Yeah, GnuCash can be a royal pain to install. I tried installing the latest version using RPMs, but after tracking down a dozen dependency problems and other conflicts, I just gave up and installed the older version that came on my install CDs.

My advice would be to see if there's a version of it on your install CDs that you can install... might be easier than trying to do it manually. If you don't have the installation CDs, you could try getting Ximian Red Carpet and see if it provides GnuCash; it'll handle all the dependency resolution for you.
