gnu cash and slackware 10.0

I am trying to install gnucash on my slackware 10.0 systerm and this is the output that I am getting when I try to run ./configure
./configure
loading cache ./config.cache
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/ginstall -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes
checking for working aclocal... found
checking for working autoconf... found
checking for working automake... found
checking for working autoheader... found
checking for working makeinfo... found
checking for gnome-config... no
checking for gnomeConf.sh file in /usr/local/lib... not found
configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated by gnom e-libs install

I am using thekde desktop with slackware 10.0, I would appreciate the help.
I was also wondering if SWARET could also be used to help ease the configuration of gnucash.

Thankyou in advance

This is a Slackware FAQ. I tried installing it myself, but then just went back to spreadsheeting everything ;(

Anyway, this seems to be the 'authoritative' site on installing guncash on Slackware.

http://rjmarq.org/gnucash.html

I'd also google for 'gnucash slackware' to see if there are any easier solutions.

Good luck.

Gnucash and Slackware are not a good fit. The main reason is that Gnucash requires a bunch of obsolete libraries that Slackware no longer supports. This is the main reason that swaret isn't going to help you, and you REALLY need to think about installing them. Gnucash can be installed on Slackware, but understand what you are doing first because you can mangle your Slackware installation.
