gnome trouble with landscape and opacity printing pdfs
I use Gnome (dropline 2.16.2) on Slack 11.
I have a pdf which is landscape and contains elements which should be partially transparent. When I try to print the pdf using evince (gnome's pdf viewer), the partially transparent elements are fully opaque. When I try to print from Acrobat Reader, the transparency works fine but it refuses to print landscape even when I select landscape in the Page Setup. The work-around which does work is to evoke kprinter from Acrobat Reader, but this is rather inelegant. Can anyone tell me how I can get Acrobat Reader to print landscape or evince to respect the transparency? Thanks, Brian |
There may be a more general problem here. When printing from openoffice I cannot seem to choose the duplex mode. My printer is set up to default to duplex. If I choose No Duplex in the openoffice print setting it is ignored. The only way that I can change it is to go into the cups configuration and change it there.
Thanks, Brian |
