Gnome Terminal Scrolls on reboot/shutdown
I'm running Gentoo 2004.2 with the latest and greatest of everything (including Gnome 2.6.2). Kernel is 2.6.8.1. I've run into a weird problem on two systems, one laptop and one desktop. I've also seen this problem in the past on Slackware 9.1 and 10.0. When I type reboot (as root), or "shutdown -r now" or "shutdown -h now" the terminal starts scrolling very quickly - just newlines after newlines after newlines. I've searched Google and the only thing I could find to accurately describe what was happening was here:
HTTPS bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=82901 (sorry would have posted a link but not yet at the 5 postings minimum)
But, there was never a solution provided. Anyone have any idea what could cause this?
Thanks!
