Gnome terminal problem in Fedora

Hi!

I can't start shell (Gnome terminal in Fedora which uses bash) with a user level account. As root I can do it. I tried changing the default shell to xterm but the same problem stays.

When I try to start shell it opens the window and the cursos stays on left-upper corner and blinks, no prompt, nothing happens. I can't type anything in it and ctrl+c doesn't do anything.

I tried deleting the user id and creating a new one but no help there.

Then I switched to KDE and in KDE the same user can use Konsole with no problems (konsole uses bash too).

Next I tried using konsole in Gnome - it worked too! So the problem seems to be gnome terminal specific but that's all I've been able to find out so far.

Thanks for any tips!
