gnome-terminal and foreign characters
alright, once again I've run into a weird problem...hopefully you can help. I like to use english OS, like I do now - my whole Gnome system is in english. however, because I'm finnish and do write in finnish in some cases (naturally, heh), I'd like to do this with my Gnome too - I have been able to do so, and am able right now except for gnome-terminal.
for instance a normal shell, aterm, eterm etc. know my finnish character set that I have defined, so I got no problems writing scandinavian characters (o-with-dots, ö, for example). but when it comes to gnome-terminal, nothing - it just don't do them. options doesn't have anything that would let me choose what charset to use, so what am I going to do? When I had Gnome 2.4 some time ago, I had no problems (though my desktop was in english, except for the charset). Now when I've moved to 2.6, gnome-terminal has started doing this...any ideas? it'd be a bit annoying to use gnome-terminal for normal stuff and aterm or something for the stuff in which I need finnish charset (I like gnome-terminal, so I won't give up of it ;) heh) please, tell if you got ideas or can solve this.. |
