GNOME login - bind: Permission denied
Hi,
Since I've updated my Gentoo yesterday, I am no more able to login via gdm. I am using GNOME. I can login if I change to failsafe mode. The error message from ~/.xsession-errors is the following Quote:

permission denit means you have no access to this files.
Checkot the permissions. Maybe you have to use chmod ore chgrp or chgrp |
That's allright. But could you help me, and tell me which files, I have to check? And which permissions they should have?

chmod +x * for exe files
chmod +rx for scripts ore you have to start the program with strace then you can see whats all happend or modify the scipt which is starting and put in -x for sriptdebugging |
But that is my problem: Which script?

Maybe this can help you:
Code:
laptop2 log # pwd |
But what you see in /var/log/messages
ab what you find in /var/log/boot* ( 3files) |
/var/log/messages (with debug=true in /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf) - I think there is nothing useful in it:
Code:
Nov 7 18:16:35 laptop2 init: Activating demand-procedures for 'A' |
