Gnome icon selection problem

I'm having a really annoying problem in gnome where my Icons aren't being totally deselected after clicking somewhere else on the desktop. It seems to be kind of random, and there will always be a little bar of selection left on the left side. If I right click or open any other menu they will go away.

This is sort of a minor problem, but it's really annoying.

It doesn't happen in KDE, but that could be because KDE doesn't uses rounded selection on the icons. It seems to be the left part of the rounded selection that stays.

I think it could be a gnome problem... or maybe some sort of setting in my X configuration?

I posted this in another forum with a picture of the problem... no luck
