Gnome appears to have disappeared from my computer. I logged out to switch to root for a minute, and when I logged in as root, gnome was gone, and I was in a strange desktop (not KDE). I logged out again and gnome had disappeared from the list of desktops. The only options I have are system default (which loads into an unfamiliar desktop), KDE, and console. I checked and it appears that gnome, or at least many of gnomes files, are still installed, I just can't access it. I had been trying to get gstreamer to work properly right before this happened, and got an error from yum, saying it couldn't access the gstreamer sever. I've never had any problems with gnome before. I'm running fedora core 3. Any ideas what may have happened?
