gnome dictionary 2.4.1 puts an infinite time to look up work


As I have said in the subject, the preferences are default. Before the looking up process is very quick. Any helps ? THank my friends@

You didn't say that in the subject line--if you meant `on the subject' it indicates a double post.

So are you wrong or are you breaking the rules?

Try pinging the dict server, and using dict to connect to it.

find out which server your gnome-dictionary uses (go to edit -> preferences)--I will use dict.org in the examples:

$ ping dict.org
$ dict --host dict.org foobar
