gnome-devel | build-essential

PCLinux.

I need gnome-devel and build-essential.

apt-get install build-essential

It worked when running one or two other distro's. I must be missing a repository.

I have all Synaptic Repositories checked and Reloaded but don't see these packages.

Where and how do I get gnome-devel and build-essential?

You cannot find build-essential because PCLinuxOS does not have it. The build-essential package seems to be only available on Ubuntu and derivatives.
