Exclamation gnome and java

Hi All, Ive asked before but no one replied anyway the problem is when a java applet tried to load a sound while its busy compiling it will hang until im not using for example xmms the applet is a chat program once xmms is closed or not playing anymore the applet will continue to load and will run correctly... however xmms will not be able to play any kind of sound because it says the device is either busy or not there... as soon as i stop using the java then xmms will play again... im assuming that the java applet is taking a hold of the sound card and not using esd to output its sound.. is there anyway to force java or mozilla whichever to output through esd and not the sound card directly?

thanks

launch it through soundwrapper

soundwrapper mozilla

afaik that will suck any sounds out through to esd for you.
