Gnome 2.6 problems (gnome-terminal)

Hi

After some fiddling my terminal stopped working in gnome 2.6
All i see is the box on the window bar saying : starting terminal - then quits in 5 sec

i tried to launch gnome-terminal from Kterminal, and got the following error message:

Error while loading shared libraries:
shared object file: libgnome-keyring.so.0
No such file or directory

However this file does exist under usr/local/lib , the place where all the other gnome's libraries are.
Also i made sure that the path is in ld.so.conf

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Alex
