Gnome 2.10 installation on Gentoo

For a while now I've noticed that the Gentoo devs haven't unmaksed the Gnome 2.10 packages yet. I tried the LiveCD from the Gnome site, and I really like the new gnome version. I'd like to try and test it out on my boxes. I've unmasked the packages, but there's no meta-ebuild for 2.10. Has anyone gotten Gnome 2.10 to work under gentoo? I did try to use GARNOME, but it didn't work. What sequence should the packages be merged in? And also, how do I make binary packages for this stuff and its dependencies?

i would suggest that you wait for them to be unmasked on gentoo and then emerge them.

Ya, it is masked in the package.mask in the 2005.0 profile... usually that means you'll run into problems getting it to compile.
