Gnome 2.10
Hi,
I have a stupid problem with gnome. Does anyone know how to make windows from one workspace to dissapear on the other one? In gnome 2.6 I had no problems finding this option, but in 2.10 I am stuck. Thanks In Advance |
Can you be more precise about what you mean. I thought the default GNOME behaviour is not to show windows from one workspace in another.

No, actually it doesn't. I am just trying it. I have opened a firefox window in workspace 2, then switched to workspace 1 and it still shows a button in the taskbar below (of course the windows is minimized and when I click the button it opens up and swithes to desktop 2.
What I need it to make it display only buttons in taskbar from this workspace, so if I open a program in workspace 2 and swith to 1, the taskbar should be empty. I hope that gives you the necessary details. Thanks |
Unfortunately I am not using GNOME at the moment, but I would assume that right clicking on the workspaces or the gnome-panel should give you some sort of option to configure the behaviour of your workspaces.

Yes, I have tried that, but I can't find this in the properties menu. Maybe someone can send me their gnome config file and I will find the right section in it and add it to my config.

Right click the "Windows List applet" not the Gnome panel.
Click Preferences and make the appropriate selection in the Window list content section. |
Ok, thanks, that solved it. Works as desired now.
