GMT from LINUX

Good day everyone,

Does anybody know how to obtain (or read) GMT from Linux? The 'date' command returns local time. Thanks.

Moved: This thread is more suitable in Linux-Software and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves. It's your first post, but it's a technical question so it's better in a more technical forum.

date -u
should print what you need.
