GLX problem
 
hey,
well I've been trying to get a few things working on my RedHat 9 linux box, mostly xawtv. the only problem is that GLX won't load... this is what it tells me:

This is xawtv-3.88, running on Linux/i586 (2.4.20-13.9)

so then I decided to run glxinfo, and this is what it told me:

name of display: :0.0

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual

and when I run glxgears it says this:

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual

ok, so I don't know what to do! I checked my XF86Config file and the:
Load "glx"
line is not commented out. If you need me to clarify, just ask, thanks in advance.

the xmesa libs are installed ?

um... I'm really sorry, but I have no idea...
I don't actually know what the xmesa libs are... so, could you please elaborate?

well, I fixed it... I had installed an NVIDIA driver a while ago because I was testing a different video card, so I just had to uninstall it, and it works fine now
