glut slackpack?

I'm running Slackware 9,1 kernel 2.4.22, I'm having problems with glut, I wanted to have a 3D opengl screensaver and when I tryed it it was NOT GOOD, no opengl makes it really bad.
So I googled and found there is something called glut. I downloaded the slackpack and installed it with pkgtool.
But still the screevsaver is acting like there is no opengl.? why... I remember I hav redhat a long time ago, and I had 3D saver, and it worked well. so it should work?
maybe I forgott someting?

thnx
