Interesting problem.... I just upgrade to XFree86 4.2.0 .. everything works fine, with exception to the new "XFree86 -configure" command, which is supposed to be a new graphical config.
This requires that libglide2x.so be installed, which the XFree86 binaries did not install, they only installed version 3. So I went and downloaded version 2 and installed them and reran the graphical config.. only now I get this error, which has me stumped:
Could not find grSstQueryBoards() in libglide2x.so
Failed to load module "glide" (module-specific error, 0)
blah blah blah...
Now maybe I'm misintrerrupting this.. but according to the docs, this should work on any system. But, my experience tells me that this is trying to load the Glide graphics module, similar to 3Dfx cards, which I DO NOT have in this system.. to my knowledge, it doesn't support Glide at all. BUT, according to the XFree86 install, this graphical config works for anyone.
Any help appreciated....
