glibc v2.2.5 compile problem

Okay, I've been following the v3.3 LFS manual for install instructions, and I am now at the point where I compile glibc in my chroot'd environment... (all programs installed have been from the tar ball they provided that had all the recommended programs) ...everything has been going along smoothly until now..

I receive this error when I am compiling glibc 2.2.5:

Quote:
make -C login subdir_lib
make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/src/sources/g/glibc-2.2.5/login'
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `subdir_lib'. Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/sources/g/glibc-2.2.5/login'
make[1]: *** [login/subdir_lib] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving
directory `/usr/src/sources/g/glibc-2.2.5' make: *** [all] Error 2
If I am leaving some some piece of information, please let me know! (I'm obviously far from experienced with linux, yet)

Well according to that message it either can't find the file login/Makefile or there is no rule to build subdir_lib in that Makefile. Did something go wrong when typing out the sed and cp commands for the login/Makefile?

By the way there is a special forum dedicated only to LFS. It's a subforum of the Distribution forum. There are a lot more people who know about LFS reading the questions there then they would in this forum.

Thank you for the reply, I forgot to come back here and follow up.

I had a few screwy permissions in the source tree, so, I deleted it all and unpacked it again, everything went smoothly.

Also, thanks for the heads up on the LFS forum. =)
