Glibc Upgrade.............

ehlo,

Four days ago i wanted to install Karamba KDE enhancement and in the process i got stopped by failed library dependencies error of following libs:

libGLcore.so.1 (though i DO emergency have even nvidia card)

libXft.so.2

linXrandr.so.2

libfontconfig.so.1

libpng.so.3 (even though i dled it and installed it)

libstdc++.so.5 (cant install it without Glibc-2.2.5 which just does not want to install on my system(too many proggies depend on this older version i have), maybe in installing it wrongly)

libstdc++.so.5(CXXABI_1.2)( same as above)

libstdc++.so.5(GLIBCPP_3.2)(same as above)

Main question is HOW to upgrade my old GLIBC library with newer one since rpms provided by SuSE are of no use to me, too many failed dependencies yield when i try to install or upgrade it.
Three days have passed and i am lost in failed library dependencies hell ! i cant install or upgrade anything due to so many dependencies.

So to conclude this message i would like someone to point me to resource or give me an advice how to install or upgrade newer GLIBC library, because without it all my other dled libs will not install.

P.S.- sources do not work as well !
My current GLIBC is 2.0.x(hope this helps)

there is a libc upgrade faq on the web.
it's complicated, but it's there, wherever it is.
search for it.

May be you can install apt-get (and synaptic) for SuSE to reduce that dependency hell alot ;-)

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

that's it!

Have fun :-)
