Unhappy glibc config errors

hi

running config for glibc 2.3.2

running

../glibc-2.3.2/configure --prefix=/usr --enable-add-ons=linuxthreads

configuring it in glibc-build like in readme hence .. before glibc-2.3.2/

im getting the folowing errors

sscanf.c:31: warning: conflicting types for built-in function `sscanf'
sscanf.c: In function `sscanf':
sscanf.c:37: error: `va_start' used in function with fixed args
../stdio-common/_itoa.h: At top level:
../stdio-common/_itoa.h:40: warning: inlining failed in call to `_itoa_word'
../stdio-common/_itoa.h:76: warning: called from here
make[2]: *** [/home/robert/glibc-build/stdio-common/sscanf.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/robert/glibc-2.3.2/stdio-common'
make[1]: *** [stdio-common/subdir_lib] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/robert/glibc-2.3.2'

i also told it 2 place its self into the /usr folder is this ok? as i can leave it as defult due to a dif version installed!

many thanks for help

Quote:
../stdio-common/_itoa.h: At top level:
../stdio-common/_itoa.h:40: warning: inlining failed in call to `_itoa_word'
../stdio-common/_itoa.h:76: warning: called from here
make[2]: *** [/home/robert/glibc-build/stdio-common/sscanf.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/robert/glibc-2.3.2/stdio-common'
make[1]: *** [stdio-common/subdir_lib] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/robert/glibc-2.3.2'
