gimps/mprime questions

i'm trying to use gimps/mprime to test the stability of my system and I'm running in to a few problems that are making it not as smooth to navigate as it's windows counterpart. First of all, I am running gentoo 64bit. when I run it not as a daemon, I am using "/opt/gimps/mprime -w/var/lib/mprime". Then I am able to select number 18 for the torture test. Now come my two questions. First, if I don't run the program with sudo, I get errors saying it can't open the logs. Second, I see no way of being able to change the type of torture test like the windows client can. I can only assume that it always runs the blend test, but I'd like to be able to change it to small ffts if that is possible.

So, does anyone know where the log files are kept so I can change their permisions so I don't need to run gimps/mprime with sudo? and, does anyone know how to change the type of torture test?

Thanks.
