Using Fedora 11 i386
Have a Canon pixma MX-310. Have successfully got it printing with CUPS and can successfully scan using scanimage. Able to scan both as root and as an individual.
Problem unable to do xsane and to scan with GIMP. Always reports unable to find scanner attached. Yet, scanimage -V reports
scanimage (sane-backends) 1.0.20; backend version 1.0.20
scanimage -L
device `pixma:04A91728_15D58F' is a CANON Canon PIXMA MX310 multi-function peripheral
