Gimp crashes XFree86 - occasionaly...

Here are the spec's:-

RedHat 8.0
Linux 2.4.20 / Andrew Morton low-latency
XFree86-4.2.0-72 - Matrox Beta 2 driver / Xinerama 3200x1200
Wacom/graphire driver
Gnome2
E16
gimp-1.2.3-9

Occasionally, running Gimp will crash X on me. Let's say around the 10-12 time it is started... Anyone else experience this?

Gimp is actually the 'one' app that has never crashed on me. I just checked and I am using 1.2.3-4 so perhaps yours is beta, or unstable?
