Getting new applicaton in menu

I recently downloaded firefox and installed (unzipped/untarred) the downloaded file. Copied the whole thing to the usr/local/ directory and I can start firefox by executing the corresponding firefox file. I would however like to get firefox added to the the startup menu (the little red hat in my fedora core 1 installation). How can I add applicatoin to that menu ?

Thank you !!
