Getting GXine to work on Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx

I just did a fresh install of Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. I used apt-get to install VLC media player, and VLC is working fine. I did the same thing (apt-get install) for gxine, and installed it. However, it refuses to load
up. I have tried it with both audio and video. The gxine tab appears in the activity bar for a while, and the tab indicates that it is loading,
but the tab eventually disappears. I wonder if there is a bug fix or something that I don't know about? Gxine works fine in Kubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, which I have in a different hard drive. I wonder if anybody knows anything? - ROX . . .

Try starting it in a terminal and see what error messages it gives.

Might be Bug #542506 in gxine (Ubuntu): “gxine fails to start: error while loading shared libraries: libmozjs.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory” - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ne/+bug/542506

Thank you for the reply craigevil. Yes, it looks like gxine is not usable in the new release of Kubuntu 10.04, unless somebody figures out a way to fix it. The default Amarok and Dragon Player do fine, however, and I also have VLC, so that will do.
