Ok, I dont know if many of you have heard about this game "Racer" it was in one of the linux magazines... it looks awesome, heres the link to the site: www.racer.nl
I fully installed the game data and the binary files it needs but when running the game I get an error:
bin/racer: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I have installed gcc and glibc and everyother C++ library I can think of... but no such luck yet, Im running Gentoo 1.4 with KDE 3.1 if that helps... thanks to anyone with some answers to my problems.
still get the same error though... I dont know what the deal is... I have tried 2 different versions of the game... one is from a linux Magazine's CD and the other is downloaded from their website... both of them get the same error.
The commands I gave you were not supposed to clear up any problems. I just wanted to see what the output for these commands was, so that I could give you more acurate advice.
Could you run either one of those commands and post the output from them on this thread?
That is what I was trying to get at. If he posted the output from those commands, then I could possibly give him the exact symlink that he needs to make. Or at least the package to DL and install to get the file needed.
