Gentoo (masked by: missing keyword)

How am I able to unmask a package when there is no keyword to unmask it with? In this case Azureus.

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "azureus" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- net-p2p/azureus-2.2.0.0 (masked by: missing keyword)

Thanks.

You have to options. You can either unmask it from the command line when you emerge it:

ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge azureus

or you can permantly unmask it by adding the following line to /etc/portage/package.keywords:

net-p2p/azureus ~x86

If you don't have the package.keywords file you can just create it.

You shouldnt do ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="" anymore you should permanently as if you ACCEPT_KEYWORDS you are only doing it for that certain emerge and you can screw with dependencies or something along those lines.

Steve,
Your post makes absolutely no sense. Please either re-post or edit your previous post, this time with correct grammar and sentence structure.

thanks.

Instead of using ACCEPT_KEYWORDS, you should put the following in /etc/portage/package.keywords:
net-p2p/azureus ~x86

Hope this helps =)

That page has not been updated for over a year, and using ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" is not recommended anymore.
It will cause the unstable version of the package itself and all of it's dependencies to be emerged.

Using /etc/portage/package.keywords will only accept ~x86 for that package itself.

Hope this clears up the reason why ACCEPT_KEYWORDS isn't recommended by the Gentoo developers anymore.

use ** to make portage ignore any keywords ( including package with no keyword ). read man portage... for more info.

example in files /etc/portage/package.keywords:

media-gfx/gimp **
