Gentoo install


Ok im installing gentoo fromt he stage 3 tarball on the live cd and i think i got everythign going but what exactly do i need to add to the grub.conf file. i used the gentoo-sources kernel and compiled it with genkernel. do i need to copy the bzImage it made and the initrd and where is the initrd if i do have to copy it somewhere. the instructions that came with the cd werent that clear on all that stuff

the installation guide is realy detailed and goes through everything step by step. you need to copy the bzIMage file to /boot/ and adjust grub.conf accordingly. you do not need an initrd unless you specifically have a known reason to, in which case you would create one with "mkinitrd"
