Gentoo cdemu bin cue iso emulation install problem

I am running the latest Gentoo w/ 2.6.7-r11 and cannot install cdemu. I have found two other posts on this forum and neither one was resolved relating to this same issue. I tried using the ebuild in portage, as well as the latest beta and older alpha source from the cdemu website in tar.gz form to no avail. Here's my error:

Code:
root@GenPC-Netsniper /home/netsniper # emerge cdemu

Why does it say I need to be root if I already am?!?!?!? Here are links to a couple other posts where the issue was never resolved:

I found the solution myself on the Gentoo forums located here:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.p...958fe04c6459df

The trick is to use "su -" when you change to the root user and then do the emerge cdemu. The makefile has a check in there to see if you really are the root user and if will fail if you don't do "su -". Good luck to future thread readers :-P
