I went in and searched, with find file, for anything with xf86 case insensitive. It said no file found. I followed your path and there it was. Here is the file:

I'm currently running 1280x1024. Is this file right? According to what I read it was supposed to make the changes. I never checked to see if it did. I don't know how to check for one. I have a picture, I dun no.

BTW: I was going to do this as a attachment, but it won't let me. Sorry so long.

Doesn't look like you got 3d acceleration going.Try glxgears to see if it works.
You can also check the output of this:

amm how did you tell Mandrake to boot to command line before you installed the graphics board?

im using RH but they said Mandrake and RH are somewhat the same, so maybe your inittab was changed.

find your inittab and edit it. on RH init 3 as default is what i used when installing Nvidia. check if you have a default of init 3 on your inittab. change it to init 5(or whatever number is used by your distro to boot to X) and save file then reboot...

hope this helps and my english is clear enough....

I have the same motherboard, graphics card and version of Mandrake so this XF86Config-4 should work. Remember to replace your inputs (keyboard/mouse), monitor, and busID (you'll get this from lscpi).

Running "glxgears" (no parameters) in a window with X running at 1280x1024 I get around 1140fps. I think this can be improved but I'm not 100% sure.
